Harlem Shake Sensation!

It's confession time... I kind of like the trend of Harlem Shake videos going around the internet...

If you are unsure of what this whole thing is about, here is a quick rundown. This is not the dance move 'Harlem Shake'. What happens is, the song starts, and one person is dancing, usually doing something a little silly, but not completely crazy. Most of the time there are other people in the frame just chllin', hanging out, not paying attention. After a few seconds, the beat drops, and the video cuts to a group of people GOING ABSOLUTELY NUTS! Costumes! Props! Manic dancing! ITS EPIC!

This has been getting a lot of crap from people thinking that it is stupid and overdone. And sure, there has been so many different versions and such that the internet was pretty bogged down with this thing for a while. But still! I think they are hilarious!

It's a catchy song, with a pretty interesting beat. I have no idea why, but watching the first part of the video with the one person dancing while the others ignore them is embarrassingly captivating. Have you ever had a friend doing something like making a face, or dancing like a fool to get your attention but you are determined to ignore them? They either get frustrated and laugh and pout or you give in and pay attention. That is exactly what I imagine with this! Don't lie to yourself! You have had this experience too!

I can't speak for you, but for me, I want a soundtrack to my life, and this seems to fit with a lot of adventures I've had. It makes me happy! Looking back at some nights out with friends or the days I spent in Australia, things may have started out slow, like the song, but once it picks up, and the beat drops, and there are tons of just absurd things happening left and right, that is what this whole Harlem Shake sensation reminds me of.

Not only is it fun to watch the one person act like a fool for a little bit...but once the beat drops and the massive crazy throng of people start to dance, there is so much to watch! I've had to watch a few videos multiple times in order to see all the ridiculous stuff they are doing.

There are a few versions that just have a small number of participants. They aren't that fun to watch. I give them credit though! They had the balls to make this video! And I'm sure it was a blast! I'm just saying that the ones I like to watch, are the ones with a massive number of people. It just makes for a more entertaining experience I think.

I know it is a tad random, but they are hilarious! They are just fun to watch and see all the creative ways people are willing to dance around on camera. I still watch a few when I need a giggle and pick up on things I hadn't before.
