Southern Belle Cocktail

It tastes so good!
It tastes so good!

I know this may not be the first time someone has come up with this cocktail, but I just did and I thought I would share! I had a few ideas for a name, and my friends voted on "Southern Belle." It is comprised of 2 of my favorite things: iced tea and champagne.

Alex and I were taste testing champagne for the wedding, and I decided I wanted mimosas in the morning with breakfast. Well, I had forgotten we ran out of orange juice! As luck would have it we still had a ton of sweet tea I made for the 4th of July. On a whim, I mixed the two together and found out that it was delicious!

You will need:

  • Sweet tea (or if you just have normal iced tea, add sugar to sweeten it to your liking)
    • NOTE: Real southern made iced tea is STRONG! I use 10-15 teabags for a 3 quart pitcher in my iced tea maker.
    • Dry Champagne (you can use a sweeter kind if you like)
    • Champagne glass

Make sure the sweet tea and champagne are iced and very cold. It's just so much more refreshing that way. Warm champagne is just not good.

Fill your glass halfway with sweet tea, and the rest of the way with champagne.

Garnish with a thin slice of lemon, or any other fruit if you like.

There you have it, a real Southern Belle cocktail! Perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
