I've never really had an issue with my hair needing more volume. I mean, it's huge. It's curly. It has a mind of it's own. However, when I straighten it, or get a blow out, it is like my hair has another personality. I don't straighten my hair often for a few reasons:
- It takes FOREVER, so if it does it straightened, it because I paid someone to do it.
- I have curly hair, which gets very dry and the ends get all frazzled, so I try and stay clear of heat styling.
- I sorta feel like when my hair is straight it is boring. Like it's not really me. I have a love hate relationship with my hair.
So when I get a blowout, I like to make it last for as long as possible because I paid for it and it took a long time. But I also wanted to give it more life and bounce like my curls have. Enter...velcro rollers!
I got a set at Target, your local one stop shop for all your needs and things you didn't know you needed but now you have to have.
I watched a couple youtube videos on how best to use them and I was off! They are easy to use as you don't have to warm them up like hot rollers, or use clips to secure them, which can leave creases in your hair. Plus the ridges act like a brush so when you take them out you are also getting knots and tangles out so your hair is extra soft, silky and shiny!
I used them the day after my haircut/blowout and my hair had gone a bit flat and I wanted to perk it up.
I don't think I can use these with my natural texture as the rollers do act as a brush and that will just cause frizz. But for when my hair is straight and I want some extra oomph...these do the trick!
So try them out! I highly recommend searching for a youtube video because those beauty and hair gurus are amazing!
